Emily Kate Long is excited to begin her first season with Ballet Quad Cities after having spent two seasons as a member of Milwaukee Ballet II. There she had opportunities to perform with Milwaukee Ballet in Michael Pink's The Nutcracker, Petipa’s The Sleeping Beauty and La Bayadére, and with MBII in Balanchine’s Who Cares?, Bournonville’s Flower Festival in Genzano and Napoli, Pink’s Candide Overture, and contemporary and neoclassical works by Tom Teague, Denis Malinkine and Rolando Yanes. She partnered extensively with the Milwaukee Ballet Education Department to create Maria and the Magic Doll Shoppe, which toured to over 20 venues throughout southeastern Wisconsin, and was part of the creation of two original contemporary works, Dessert Pas de Trois and La Fuerza, by Petr Zahradnicek. In addition, she has worked with renowned dancer and choreographer Cameron Macmillan as part of Milwaukee Ballet’s Genesis International Choreographic Competition and participated in workshops with Maiqui Manosa, Trey McIntyre, Kee-Huan Han and Simone Ferro.

Ms. Long began her dance education in South Bend, Indiana with Kimmary Williams and Jacob Rice, and graduated from Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School's Schenley Program, where she performed with Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre in "The Nutcracker" in corps de ballet and children's roles and with PBTS in Napoli, Paquita, Tarantella, and various contemporary works. Ms Long attended Milwaukee Ballet School's Summer Intensive on scholarship before being invited to join MBII in 2007, and has worked for the past two summers as a Resident Assistant at the Saratoga Summer Dance Intensive. She also has spent summers at Miami City Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School, Pittsburgh Youth Ballet, and Ballet Chicago.
