Ballet Quad Cities already has a broad audience within a large bi-state region simply by existing in the Quad City area, but is committed to expanding its reach even further. In the past, BQC has toured to many cities from Red Oak, IA to Greenville, MI. BQC is now a member of the Illinois Arts Council’s ARTSTOUR, through which funding may be available to presenters wishing to support performances of the ballet company.
Ballet Quad Cities has in its repertoire both new, contemporary ballets such as Romeo & Juliet 21st Century with bold and jazzy choreography, as well as the classical favorites Cinderella, Coppélia and The Nutcracker. The ballet company has toured The Nutcracker in the past, and is willing to incorporate local children into the production. BQC also tours with their Children’s Fairy Tale Ballet Series in which children get a behind the scenes look at the ballet before seeing the performance. This year’s ballet will be “The Ugly Duckling.”
