Ballet Mistress

Courtney Lyon, recently retired as a professional dancer with Ballet Quad Cities, is now the Ballet Mistress for the company. She has been a member of Ballet Quad Cities since 2000 and before that performed with Milwaukee Ballet, Dancers In Company and in the Dance Gala at the University of Iowa.  She currently co-directs Ballet Quad Cities II, the youth company and is active in all of the company’s education outreach programs such as Dance for Life (Outreach Leader) and the Lincoln Academy Arts Camp at the Bucktown Center for the Arts (Ballet Teacher).  As a choreographer, Ms. Lyon choreographed The Ugly Duckling for Ballet Under The Stars, The Three Little Pigs, and the dance segment in Carmen for Opera Quad Cities.  She also served as Assistant to the Project Manager for One River Mississippi, a dance production involving 10 different communities along the Mississippi River.
