The Nutcracker Educational Matinée

Ballet Quad Cities invites students to an abridged educational matinée performance of The Nutcracker. This special one-hour performance features the same sets, costumes, special effects, and beautiful dancing found in the full production, making it ideal for field trips. In this classical holiday tale, Clara and Herr Drosselmeyer travel together to the Land of the Sweets, where the Sugar Plum Fairy is reunited with her prince and the magic unfolds. The performance features grand sets, stunning costumes, and a cast of 60!

Enhancing The Nutcracker Ballet Experience

An in-school pre-performance educational program is offered to further enrich the live ballet experience. This 40-minute program includes engaging classroom activities related to the performance.

Ticketing Procedures

Paper tickets are not issued for student matinées. A volunteer will have the school name and number of tickets at the entrance.

Field trip rate of $8 per student are exclusively available to students in grades K-12. For every group of 15 students, one complimentary teacher ticket

(code TEACH) will be provided. Any additional adults attending are eligible for the field trip rate of $12. Please note if your group is under 15 students, adults do not receive a complimentary teacher ticket.
