Mahalia Zellmer

Mahalia Zellmer  began her dance education at a young age at Ballet Quad Cities School of Dance training in all forms of dance including ballet, jazz, modern, tap, choreography, Mexican, African and Indian dance. After graduation she was a trainee for Ballet Quad Cities for two seasons and joined the company as a full time company dancer in the 21/22 performing season. While still in high school, Ms. Zellmer performed in many Ballet Quad Cities professional productions and studied at the Glenda Brown Choreography Project in Kansas City, MO. Ms. Zellmer is known on stage for her expressive and energetic performances, and has been featured as the dramatic "Queen of Hearts” in Courtney Lyon’s Alice in Wonderland and the "Cowardly Lion" in Dorothy Goes to Oz by Emily Kate Long. In the summer of 2021 she was a co-presenter for BQC’s outreach programs for diverse populations of all ages. In Spring of 2023 she had gotten the amazing opportunities to choreograph on the Ballet Quad Cities company as well. As a teacher at BQC School of Dance, Ms. Zellmer brings over four years of teaching experience, working with dancers of all ages and levels. She creates a supportive and structured environment where students grow in both technique and artistry. Passionate about helping each dancer build confidence and reach their fullest potential, Ms. Zellmer fosters teamwork, dedication, and a lifelong love of dance.
